Note to the Listener(s)
Since May of 2020 I have been a frequent guest on the David Feldman Show. The songs on this page are just some of the thirty or more that I have written and recorded for the show. I produce these in my office at home and so they aren't what I would call studio quality. But I have had so many requests from Feldman listeners that I have decided to post them here, just as they are. With the exception of two, that feature Rosana Eckert, all the parts (vocal and instrumental) are done by me. Some attempts are better than others and I think have gotten better lately. So here they are, for better or worse. If you enjoy them, go to my youtube channel and click the share or subscribe button. At the bottom of the page I have some show excerpts that you might find interesting as well.
My Three Favorites
USA of Distraction
Inspired by the United States of Distraction by Mickey Huff and Nolan Higdon
Who's Afraid of Catherine Liu
Inspired by Virtue Hoarders: The Case Against the Professional Managerial Class by Catherine Liu.
Sea of Contrition
Inspired by He's Sorry, She's Sorry, Everybody Is Sorry. Does it Matter? by Jessica Bennett (NYTimes)
Theme Songs for the Feldman Show
Hard Time's in the City
One of the first songs I did for Feldman.
Inspired by the fact that his
show is sometimes
seven hours long and he hates his
hairplugs.
Feldman Suite
Based on Charlie Parker's
Yardbird Suite, this song was
the first Feldman Show theme
I did.
Feldman Show Theme (New)
This is a harder edged version
of Feldman Suite.
Theme Songs for some Regular Guests on the Feldman Show
Harvey J Kaye Theme Song
Harvey J is the author of Thomas Paine and the Promise of America, FDR on Democracy, The Fight for the Four Freedoms and many more. Great guest. One of my favorites.
Howie Klein Theme Song
Howie has been a concert promoter, record label executive, record label founder in past lives. Presently he is the author of the DownWithTyranny blog and the Founder and Treasurer of Blue America PAC. Always has the latest scoop in left leaning politics.
Minsky and Kaye Theme
Alan Minsky joins Harvey J each week to discuss politics. Alan is the Executive Director of Progressive Democrats of America.
Songs to support our Brothers and Sisters in the union organization.
The No Evil Blues
No Evil Foods presented themselves as a progressive company, but when their workers tried to organize they showed their true colors. The National Labor Review Board filed a complaint against the company in 2020.
Ain't No Chairs #1
Wrote this when organizers were trying to unionize the Bessemer, Alabama plant. Amazon fulfillment centers
are brutal places to work. Turns out they don't have chairs.
Workers sometimes walk 16 miles a day.
Ain't No Chairs #2
Thought the song needed a bit more edge. I like the groove on this one. I heard from an organizer that they played this at some rallies in Bessemer. Two votes have failed but the work continues. We stand in solidarity with those in the Amazon union.
Just Some Silly Stuff to Make Feldman Laugh
Something Died In My Garage
I decided to write something from my personal experience.
Travelin' Light
A tribute to David who says he's most comfortable in a motel room.
Swine Bomb Boogie
San Francisco get's invaded by feral hogs and wild boar. How could I not write a song about that.
Amazon Hell - Parts I and II
These are two of my favorites. Part I was written out of the frustration of trying to self-publish and running into Amazon at every turn. Book Baby, CD Baby, and more are all owed by Jeff Bezos. Part II features the amazing Rosana Eckert, who I asked to scat the names of the companies as I read them. She not only scatted but did it in harmony. Brilliant.
Amazon Hell Part I
Amazon Hell Part II
The NFT Song (Non-Fungible Token) and the Crypto Asset Song.
Remember when NFTs were new and wacky. Oh yeah, maybe they still are. Wrote the first one (NFT Song) and then the next week read about all the different Crypto Currencies and the wacky names people have given them. Once again Rosana Eckert rose to the challenge and turned all those names into some great scat jazz.

The Crypto Asset Song
Some Political Songs
I'm On My Way
Income Inequality has never
been more exaggerated.
Filibuster Blues
Will we ever be rid of this
anti-democratic relic from the past?
Billionaires in Space
Branson, Bezos, and Musk give
us a break.
This is one of my favorite segments. From an episode that aired on May 31, 2021.
Lyrically, just a bit of fun, but the harmony and soloing have some merit.
The "Know Your Dewey's" and the "Moe Green New Deal Episode.
